Photographs are an integral but only a single part of Turjo’s artistic expression. They often become a lens for his audience to dive into the whole project, which may include diverse art forms. Turjo has taken a non-journalistic approach to depict his unique perspective into photographs.
One of the characteristics of a photograph is that it’s a witness – to an event, object or just daily life. But Turjo’s photographs are rather a step in his art creation. They present his interpretations of personal or shared experiences. The interpretations are often visualized through sculptures, paintings, staging, directing, image cutouts, texts on image and many more. The photographs are finally produced through a journey of formations and reformations.
Turjo completed his Masters in Documentary and Photojournalism from University of the Arts London with a scholarship from “Agency VII”. He also completed Higher Graduation from Danish School of Media and Journalism with “Shahidul Alam Grant, 2019” and three-years photography program at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute.
